Hi people, I've had concerns around my thyroid for about 4 years now. Finally got referred for a thyroid ultrasound about 3 months ago and had the ultrasound 5 weeks ago.
Got a call from my endocrinologist the next day saying that some 'things of concern' had shown up in my ultrasound and I would need an emergency ct scan (2 weeks target to be seen). I'm sure he mentioned lump however my appt was over the phone and I had bad reception so it was hard to fully hear everything.
Due to coronavirus strains my ct scan did not happen for a month and I'm now waiting for results, however the more I'm researching this, the more trouble I'm having understanding why I was referred for a ct scan and not a fine needle aspiration. Is anyone able to shed some light on why this might be please?
With much thanks in anticipation
