Tired of this rollercoaster

Hi sorry struggle to talk to friends and need to know I'm not going mad.

had hystericalectomy in 2013 leaving my ovaries in to remove stage 1 in situ, all good no chemo carried on with life until they shrivelled up on me last year and put me into meno.

just had news I have a cyst and a mass identified on recent TV ultrasound on the first day of my holiday. Now have to wait 14 days before they can override my urgent referral and emotions are bad enough without throwing this wait in the mix too and I feel like I'm going to crumble trying to hold a business together, keep it from my daughter and continue with me law degree.

ive no idea what to expect and finding it hard to stay positive

  • Hello MishaW

I'm sorry to hear that you're struggling at the moment. It sounds like you're feeling very anxious about the recent ultrasound results and I know lots of our members here will understand that.

It can sometimes help to talk things through with another person and so I wonder if you might benefit from chatting with our nurses. I'm sure that they will be able to offer you some support and advice whilst you're waiting for the next steps.

If you'd like to call them they are available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

Do let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,

  • My wife had a hysterectomy in the 1980s.  During the 2000s (in her 50s) she developed a number of symptoms which were eventually pinned down to a very large ovarian cyst.  It required quite a long operation to remove the ovary and the cyst but it was done.  No trace of cancer found and she recovered well from the ordeal.
