Scared prostate cancer

For over six weeks I have had pain in my joints in both my ankles, knees, hips, wrists, shoulders and neck, after a stool test they found abnormalities and am expecting a call soon from the hospital, my weight has gone down by 1 stone and four pounds, terribly constipated, lethargic at times, stomach constantly rumbling, I am scared that I may have cancer and with Covid may have issues getting treatment. my left arm goes numb as does my neck on the left, my feet are tingling and feel wet when they are dry and occasionally feel cold chills going through my limbs any ideas what my symptoms indicate as if I have secondary bone cancer I know that this can be very unpleasant and challenging seeing my father in law passing with this.

  • Hi Ct2.

I am not a doctor and I have no medical qualifications.  However, I had surgery for prostate cancer nearly 10 years ago; since then I've been involved with our local prostate support group and I've picked up some information along the way.  This makes me somewhat informed, but I am most definitely not an expert.

With all that out of the way, having read your various posts, I think it highly unlikely to be advanced prostate cancer that has spread to the bones.  I think if that were the case you'd have severe urological symptoms.  I'm not aware of early stage prostate cancer producing the symptoms you describe.

Finally, don't Google!  Whilst the information you find isn't exactly inaccurate, it is usually not presented in a form that an untrained individual can use - particularly when that individual is in a highly anxious state.  And it is well known that whatever you Google, it will always come up with cancer as the diagnosis.  The general advice on this forum is that Google does not give reliable and useful information, but it will scare you to death!
