Convince I have bowl/ pancreatic cancer

Hi,

Like many I never usually post on forums but my head it all over the place with worry. I'm a 40 year old female and I've always had an achy back (from bad posture) and recently I began getting a specific pain on the left side of my back. It was nothing excruciating, more annoying. After several weeks of it coming and going my husband suggested going to a physio, so I booked an appointment. She said she was concerned as it was middle/upper back, didn't respond to manipulation so suggested I go to the docs using the term red flags.
I saw the docs in the 7thAugust whereby he took some bloods and put in for a chest x-ray. He told me the bloods would be looking for markers of cancer in the blood or bone but said he wasn't concerned as I didn't have any other symptoms. Now, I have lost a few lbs ( about 5-6) over the past couple of months but have been eating well and walking regularly so have put it down to that. I don't know what substantial weight loss is!
The bloods came back normal and I went for a second physio where she said she was still concerned! So of course I have looked up different cancers it could be and since then I seem to have had every symptom going for bowl/ pancreatic cancer such as diarrhoea, vomitting, not hungry. I know I am a worrier and when I worry I don't eat but now I am concerned that my weight loss is something more and all these symptoms are actually part of a bigger problem. Oh by the way I do suffer with IBS, but never had diarrhoea or vomitting with it. My stomach feels tender and I've woken up feeling nauseous and subsequently been sick.
I am trying to call docs again tomorrow as they were fully booked today but needed to share this as I'm convinced I must have 'C'. But don't now if I'm making myself sick through worry! Has anybody else has a similar experience?

  • Hi I'm a 35 year old male...I know exactly what you are going through...I've a dibilitating pain mid left side which is intermittent...It wakes me up every night around 4am and can be excruciating but only last for a second at most...I've had bloods taken as well and am waiting on results...I personally think the best thing we could do is get an MRI or CT scan to figure out if there is anything there...Dr.Google can be a disaster I've spent hours looking at different stuff that it might be...Does it hurt when you eat???

  • Hi Sith07. Welcome to the forum.

I think we've all had the experience of Googling symptoms and scaring ourselves silly!  That's why everyone here recommends you leave Google well alone.  Just about any set of symptoms you Google will eventually lead you cancer!

You are doing the right thing in seeing your GP who will be able to assess your symptoms in the light of many years clinical experience - something we don't have when we read web pages.

    Please, leave Google alone.
