I had a steroactic breast biopsy last week - it was awful. It took them 3 attempts to get a sample of the calcification and then they inserted the titanium clip. All in all I was in mammogram clamp for about an hour, maybe longer. I am very bruised but thankfully the pain has eased. The breast doctor called yesterday afternoon with the results of the biopsy - a papillary lesion - and with news that I now need another biopsy taken to get a larger sample. I didn't take in anything else she said as I was so stuck in the "need another sample".
I now await another appointment and a letter explaining what they have found. I am dreading it, is a second larger volume biopsy normally required? Any bruise and pain reducing tips?
