There is a possibility that your father's friend has a fairly low psa and not much cancer showing on the biopsy so there could be quite a few options for treatment.

I got results from the nurse who did the biopsy then told to wait in a room for a specialist when i told specialist i already knew results she went and played hell with the nurse, if your wondering my cancer had gone from prostate to lymph nodes, spine, ribs pelvis and a lung. I was diagnosed Feb 2016 still fine living with my uninvited guest.
