Pain after endometrial biopsy

Good morning, I had a transvaginal scan last week, and as it showed a thickened womb lining and fibroids, the consultant did an endometrial biopsy at the same time. That was 10 days ago, and although the bleeding stopped after a few days, I have a lot of pain in my vagina, sharp pains like sandpaper, and I can't sit down. I am post menopausal, not on HRT and have not been sexually active for 6 years so I am wondering if the pain may be due to vaginal atrophy? Did anyone else have pain for a week or so after a biopsy? How long did it take to subside? Thank you :)

  • How long did yours take to get better? This is the only thread on the internet where people are having prolonged pain after biopsy. I am 7 weeks out and in so much pain. Antibiotics not working

  • I had a hysteroscopy & polypectomy 3 weeks ago on recommendation of gynaecologist . Had  ultrasound and they found endometrium 6mm so only slightly thickened . I’m 65 . So glad I asked for general anaesthetic  but I’ve had a lot of pain since on Tramadol, paracetamol & ibuprofen to keep it manageable. I really wish I’d never agreed as I was fine when I went in, never had any bleeding since menopause. No infection. Luckily polyp was fine. Last ( male) doctor I saw seemed to think the pain is all in my head and to reduce painkillers!

  • What did they say the healing time is and what is your pain like? Mine feels angry like being scratched up and my cervix is red
