Basal Cell Carcinoma

I have suspected Basal Cell Carcinoma on side of my nose. I have consulted my doctor via telephone and email and sent in photographs etc. I am waiting for appointment at the hospital (plastic surgery) to have it removed but have heard no news from the hospital in weeks. Does anyone know how long the waiting times are now for cancer consultations during the current coronavirus pandemic?

  • Hi Steve.

If you think it's taking to long phone up to check to make sure things are getting sorted. My wife started with what looked like a cold sore on her top lip near the nose treated it for months it kept going down then coming back bigger, so went to Dr straight away he said it was cancer a real shock that.

Two weeks later got appointment specialist says do you want your husband with you wife says yes, went into a room with a nurse he examined it and said straight away is basil cell carcinoma do you want it taking off wife says yes so nearly straight away he injected her lip and started cutting it out i was gob smacked sat there watching good job i didn't faint. Anyway it'd grown right through the lip so he took extra away and stitched it up it was a bit sore she said couple of days, that was about 8 years ago no problems and no scar.

    P.s good luck.
