Ultrasound massive clots and heavy bleeding

I have an ultrasound scan Tuesday. Just worried that's all. Have strong family history of various female cancers. I have been having random unexpected episodes of heavy bleeding and passing huge clots I mean palm sized clots. This comes from nowhere, no pain, no cramps, no warning at all. Completely floods my clothing within minutes and as you can imagine is very embarrassing. Now having to sit on plastic bags just incase and carry a bag with spare clothing everywhere I go. Just wondered if anyone else had this or am I as abnormal as I feel

  • Hello Tpage

Just wanted to post a reply to wish you well for your ultrasound tomorrow. It's natural to feel a little anxious before an appointment but hopefully the scan tomorrow will give the Dr's information about what is causing your problems.

Although you've not had any replies to your post, I just wanted to reassure you that you are not the only woman to have been through this and I'm sure that there are other members who have experienced similar issues. Unfortunately it's not something that is commonly talked about, often even between friends, because of shame or embarressment.

I really do hope that tomorrow brings some reassurance and is the start of getting things resolved for you.

    Best wishes,

  • It''s understandable you are worried, but you did the important first step by seeing oyur doctor, and lets hope tomorrow they can sort out what the issue is, and hopefully, get you the right help for it. I put up with flooding after having a coil fitted, what I didnt realise was that it seemed to trigger a ridiculously over the top immune reaction and I ended up being in hospital. Ive come to terms with it, but can understand your worry, wishing you all the best for tomorrow and whatever follows.

  • Thanks so much. Very kind of you. Typically it's started again today so I the scan not going to be pretty tomorrow
