Hi everyone
Much like everyone else I am looking for some reassurance. I noticed a large lump in the right breast a little over two weeks ago. I was seen by my GP within a day who referred me to the breast clinic as per procedure. This appointment was on Tuesday 9th.
Up until the appointment I was feeling okay but since then I have been feeling really anxious. Ive read a lot of posts on this forum and it seems like most people were told on the day at least something about their lump and if the consultants were leaning toward worrisome or ordinary, but mine said absolutely nothing?
A doctor did the initial assessment and recommended an unltrasound and biopsy. He said he wouldnt do a mammogram due to my age(29). However once the radiologist did the ultrasound, she decided to send me for a mammogram after all.
Then when I returned from that for the needle biopsy, she seemed to be looking around the armpit area a lot on the ultrasound. And took a biopsy both from the lump AND from my armpit. Then inserted the metal clip to mark the site and did another mammogram to capture images of the marker.
Then the dr returned and told me I would recieve a call to make an appointment for my results.
I called the clinic yesterday just to ask if I may be able to bring someone with me (what with coronavirus) and the lady on the phone said I might not get an appointment I might just get a letter. But the consultant said I would get an appointment. So now I am worried that the team have suspicions about the lump.
I know I am probably overreacting and reading too much into things. But has anyone else had an appointment where the consultant doesnt indicate in any way if theyre worried or not worried? Or changing their minds about tests halfway through the ultrasound?
Thank you for listening to my worried ramble x
