Ultrasound for neck lumps tomorrow - scared

Hi everyone. I just wanted to say what's going on with me and hopefully see if someone can help with some information.

My background is I'm 34 and about 6 weeks ago felt a hard pea sized lump in the left side of my neck towards the back. The lump did not move when I pressed it. It felt deep in the neck and I forgot about it until I felt it again about three weeks later. That day I prodded it a lot, it felt hard and rubbery and then it swelled up. Now there are two lumps that if I tilt my head to one side can be felt easily. Both feel rubbery and hard and don't move. I had a phone consultation with the GP who asked about other symptoms but I don't have any. I then went in for the GP to examine my neck and she said she would refer me to an ultrasound and that is tomorrow. I am very anxious and scared and wondered if anyone can share their experiences with me. The GP said the nodes were fixed but small, she said less than 1cm. Can an ultrasound diagnose malignancy? I have a young child and I'm beside myself. Thank you for anyone reading.
