Lumps in both breasts

Hi, just looking for some advice and wondering if anyone has experienced something similar.
I'm 20 years old and noticed a hard lump/area of hard tissue on the upper centre of my right breast. My boyfriend also felt it. I immediately felt panicked, as I have never noticed this before. I can only feel the lump when I'm sticking my chest out with my shoulders back. When I'm lay down or stood normally I can't feel the lump/hard area of tissue. I called the GP and had a telephone appointment due to the coronavirus and she has referred me to the breast clinic. My appointment is on Thursday. I cannot stop crying and fearing the worst, I keep convincing myself that it is soemthing bad. I have been feeling both boobs everyday and noticed that on my left boob there is also a hard area and small lump. This is similar to the area on the right boob however not exactly the same. It worries me more that I the lumps feel hard and don't appear to move.
thansk for any advice in advance x

  • Hello caitlin

I understand how your feeling, I have no answers for you but I'm having similar issues.

Ive been suffering with deep intense pain in my right breast on and off for several weeks, I did a self examination last Wednesday evening and found a walnut sized lump and what felt like a mass of hard tissue.

I rang my GP on Thursday am and was seen Thursday afternoon, she put me through as urgent cancer pathway clinic and today I received my appointment for Thursday.

Like you I'm thinking the worst, but try to stay positive so many women receive clear results.

    Hope you get on ok!

    Andi x

  • Hey Andi,

Thankyou so much for getting back to me. I'm sorry to hear that you've also found a lump. I'm glad you've been referred quickly, did your GP seem concerned?
I am trying to stay positive, but just keep finding myself bursting into tears at just the idea of it being something bad. I will let you know how I get on tomorrow at the breast clinic and will be thinking of you aswell on the day! Hopefully we will both be fine, as you said many people go and find out it's nothing serious. Always here for a chat  , cait xx
