Hello they found my Tumor on the base of my tongue with the flexible camera up the nose and down the throat ..... but that is what they were looking for did you tell them you had throat symptoms . ? And the first few times they didn't see anything at all . Have you felt your lymph nodes in your neck for any swelling ? I hope you are ok . X x x

Hi the camera uo the nose is the one to check base if tongue cancers , maybe yours was looking for reflux problem s. Endoscopy doesn’t see the base of tongue area . I am 19 month post radiotherapy for tonsil cancer with affected lymph nodes .i had no sore throat or any swallow problem onky a swollen lymph node in collar bone

Hi there 

Thank you for replying. I told them I had difficulty swallowing so I'm not sure if they would have looked. I've had throat issues for a few years now and always having to clear it and get hoarse voice but I have allergies/inner ear and reflux issues so blamed it on that. Recently my tongue had a white coating for over a month and my taste was vile but it resolved. Then it changed appearance again and looked like the papillae was disappearing in a few places but now its normal again. Can see bumps on back of tongue but looked it up and everyone say it's normal. Drs have said my throat looks sore but that's about it. I'm freaking out. I'm having head MRI on Monday because I'm getting worrying neurological symptoms so if there's anything in that area I'm sure it will show up. I've checked lymph nodes and can feel anything but I know that doesn't mean much. Hope you are doing well after your treatment xxx

I asked them to check my brain to from my MRI as I thought I had something going on too . I have an awful pain at the back of my head opposite side to my cancer .... I'm fine no Tumor I think with me it's stress I also get earache on my good side . It's the not knowing and waiting for all the results that is the worst part .

I'm glad your brain was fine. I've been having weakness in my limbs which is worse on one side. My facial muscles are weak and eyes and mouth have noticeably dropped a bit. I also get constant headaches and pressure in head and vision issues so I'm fearing the worse. It just annoys me that if I have something that has gone to brain why are no lymph nodes swollen? You would think by now there would be at least one in my neck or collarbone that could have alerted me to a problem. I could cry.
