Fast track referrel

hi...after having no periods for about 16 months i had a bleed for 5 days in january..i went to doctors who sent me for a vaginal scan..the lady doing the scan said my ovaries were ok but the lining of my womb was still a bit thick hence maybe the reason for my bleed..

I got message from my doctor later that day to ask to make an appt to discuss my results...i called the doctors who made an appt for me two weeks later i explained to the receptionist i was a bit concerned as the doctor has text me the same afternoon she said it didnt have urgent on my notes so that eased me a bit

I finally got to see A doctor yesterday as i had to cancel previous appt due to circumstances and trying to get a doctors appt at my surgery is like trying to win the lottery.

The doctor looked at my results without any explanation as to why she printed me off a leaflet explaining a fast track cancer referral  gave it to me touched .my hand and said not to worry but just by giving me that leaflet hsd already put me on panic mode .

i have had the last few week problems with my water works so mentioned this to her which she replied to also mention this to the gynecologist as this could also have something to do with whatever she didnt explain to me ..but i talked over her and pushed and she said to do a urine sample which i did and she end up giving me some antibiotics as she mumbled something about white blood cells in my urine..

the only thing that sticks in my mind is the lady that done my scan mentioning about my womb lining still being thick could this be why they are sending  me to see the gynaecologist..

any advice please. my head is going round in circles.

oh forgot to mention had a call today i have appt on saturday and have been advised to take a pain killer in case they have to do an examination.

thanks in advance

  • Hi

Someone posted a few days back about being given this leaflet or similar. I think it's appalling.

I know if they put you through as an urgent 2 week wait they are supposed to explain to you why they are doing it and that the urgency is just in case it is serious but to just shove a leaflet at you is almost inhuman.

    Your poor thing

I would think they would check out anything that does not strike them as 'usual' just to be on the safe side. I don't have any problems in that department as mine is lung related but I wanted to say hi and see how you were.

As my GP said to me when he did my 2ww 'us doing this doesn't mean we think you have cancer, we are following guidelines, that is why you are going to see someone urgently'

I don't know if any of this is helpful. My symptom was a huge red flag for lung cancer yet my CT is clear and I've waited 4 weeks for consultant appointment to discuss what to do now. I am thankful for our NHS but sometimes things are just not handled the right way.

If you want to friend me and let me know how your appointment goes etc you're welcome too....someone to vent at when you need to? I don't mind but I'm a bit of a mess at the moment

    Best wishes

    Andrea xx

  • Hello,

Please try not to panic. We all worry when we see that we need an urgent appointment, but try and remember that this way, you'll know sooner rather than later.

I have a 2WW appointment also, the waiting is awful but worrying will not change any of our outcomes.

    sending positive vibes X
