Hi all,
I am 24 years old, male, around 175lbs. I have been experiencing rectal bleeding for 5 years now. When I first got it I went to my GP and she told me it was hemorrhoids. I was relieved and thought it would pass. Back then it was a lot of blood, sometimes when I went for a bowel movement only blood got out. Then there was a period when it was gone and then it reappeared again. I am going weeks with bleeding and then it stops for some time and then it's back again. It's weird that sometimes I can bleeed and not bleed in the same day (in the morning I do in the evening I don't or vice versa). I am also occasionally bloated and feel like I am constipated (although I go every day around two times, sometimes it feels really hard). Sometimes stools have very loose consistency or a more narrow. I have no pain, no discomfort (apart from occasional bloating), no weight loss, no nausea and vomiting. I am anemic but that is probably due to the fact that I have never eaten meat and I don't take iron supplements. I went to the doctor again this summer, he performed a rectal exam with his finger and told me that his call is on hemorrhoids.
I think that it can be due to hemorrhoids and poor dietary habits (I have always eaten really fast and hence the bloating) and maybe eat too much bread/pasta. I also don't do enough physical exercise. However when I don't go to the toilet normally and I bleed I get really scared sometimes. If it was something more serious for 5 years it would have got worse surely. But I can never be sure. I am scared to go to another doctor ( although I probably will soon).
Please let me know what you think.
