Worrying about biopsy results

hi it's been 9 days since colposcopy

iv been fine but mentally I'm so worried they will find a cancer in my biopsy !!

the two doctors that did it one thought it was cin 1the other said cin 2 at the most !!! Felt happy my cervix looked healthy no lesions seemed straight forward they told me to book a holiday !!

I cant function again incase I get a shock with biopsy

feeling so scared this is going on n on !!!

  • that waiting bit is almost worse than getting answers, I get where you are coming from with awaiting a definite have I or haven't I got C. and the what next bits that will perhaps be in your mind, all I can say is that the good bit is that you did the hard thing of realising you needed someone to take a serious look and give info and advice about next steps to keep well.  Hope it pans out well for you, and if its not great news, at least you are on the way to getting it sorted, all best x

  • Thankyou !!! I feel dizzy n sick constantly !! Im panicking about death

  • after biopsy for what I was pretty sure was breast cancer, I couldnt sleep, stopped eating, and started shaking, couldnt get warm.  The shaking got worse, so I went to GP who said I had sort of sent myself into shock with the worry. She instructed me to go home and max out on carbs, esp. bananas, as the shaking was my body trying to warm myself up, and I had lost half a stone in a fortnight without trying to. I grew up being underweight, went onto steroids in my forties and ballooned, and weight gain/loss doesnt bother me normally, however, she prescribed something to help me sleep, zopiclone, I  took 1 a night for about thre nights and got back into pattern of sleeping. Its not everyones choice, but short term I found it useful.  Im dealing with breast cancer now, but at 28 got a dodgy smear result and went through the coloposcopy terrors, and eventually had a diathermy under GA.  The twerp doctor with the consent form for "laparascopic sterilisation" freaked me out, I demanded a new one but he had none available so I got red pen out of handbag and wrote NOT FOR in front of it, and made sure to tell all the nurses and doctors and anaesthetist that if I came round and found my tubes had been tied I would sue them. Also demanded to know if their MDU (Medical defence union) insurance was up to date so any claim would be paid out. Id worked in a medical school some years earlier, and knew they get sensitve about these things, which helped. ANyways, all the very best to you. you did the right thing to get it checked, this is the follow on, and lets hope it all works out well for you and that if you need treatment, it is forthcoming without undue delays xx

  • I'm so sorry that you have been through all that !!

You must be a strong person despite of everything it's hard getting older facing these type of challenges I just wish life would give me a break sometimes some good news perhaps

good luck and thankyou !!! Xx

  • thanks, the sort of good news was that I got an amazingly big payslip through yesterday, the downside being that I had to be upfront and ask them if they were sure cos it seemed surprisingly large....waiting to hear back from the HR squad, darent spend it!
