Please help me identify this lump

Theres a hard lump on my pubic area down there(I'm a female). Its pea sized and theres a bit of pressure when pressed down on. Theres discomfort when I'm walking as it's close to my bikini line. How concerned should I be. It might just be an irritated ingrown hair but surely it wouldnt be hard-ish to touch..?? Please could I get possible answers

    Hi Jess, I have had a similar lump previously - do you shave/wax the area? It could be an ingrowing hair or blocked hair follicle. Mine came shortly after shaving and felt hard to touch like a pea as you also describe. I kept getting hot baths & eventually it went away. If your concerned though the best thing to do would be to go and see your GP and then at least you have peace of mind for yourself. Take care. Holly xx

    No I havent had anything like this before. It seems irritated so could be an inflamed ingrown hair. No I hadn't waxed or shaved. Also, thanks for replying!

    Hi jess ...

    85 % of lumps are benign... but all lumps should be seen by a Dr... soonest seen soonest sorted.... get that appointment... no one on here can tell you what it is ... wer only people with cancer or caring for someone with it...  fingers crossed it's fine ... let us know how you go ...  Chrissie....

    That's not a problem your welcome, if I was you I'd book an appointment with the GP and go and get it checked out. You'll feel better in yourself once you know what it is and your mind will be at ease. There's no point trying to guess or self diagnose what it is - that'll probably cause you more worry & stress.     Hi yesterday I was taking a shower and found a lump down there also. I rang my gp and a nurse asked me to come in today. I've never been so scared. I googled and it was definitely the wrong thing to do. The nurse tells me it's a cyst. Very normal and will go away on its own. I hope you got this sorted x
