Results tomorrow

Going for my results tomorrow having had mammogram recall first one aged 52. Some calcification in one breast which one radiologist would have not recalled me for but the other did.

Ended up having core biopsies two areas. Was on oestrogen only hrt for 6 months before so stopped pending results. Can anyone tell me if its not good news if they discuss the treatment options there and then? I know the MDT meeting took place today?

Anyone go back on HRT if given all clear?

Not going to sleep tonight

  • Hi, at 61 Id found a lump, gp referred me to specialist unit which had done mammograms in past, I had mammogram, then an ultrasound guided biopsy, surgeon who saw me rated it at one level, his colleague went to a different one, got results a week later when options were outined for invasive ductal carcinoma stage 2 which is the most common.  Id had an implant at age 18 due to chest deformity, so it ruled out lumpectomy plus radiotherapy. The surgeon was excellent, he gave clear run down of the options, partner took notes and fielded the questions we had anticipated before going into the meeting. Afterwards, I had a  meeting with specialist breast care nurse who had sat in on meeting with consultant, and she went over it all again, and the practicalities about buying bras preop etc etc, and gave me an excellent ring binder of info on breast cancer from a cancer charity,  Im hoping you get a good result, Id had to wait between 6/11 and 15/11 for the result, and had surgery (mastectomy and reconstruction) on 3/12. like you, I was in heightened anxiety and unable to sleep in the waiting period. It was the speed and the shock of it all that was so traumatic. If you can get someone to go with you as your wing man/wing woman it may be helpful cos if you are like me you might struggle with taking in information, even if its good, cos the whole process is so anxiety making. wishing you all good things x
