Hello, I had an MRI scan yesterday of my pelvic area I had stage 1a1 cancer of the cervix I say had because I had a cone biopsy on the 5th December where the surgeon thinks he removed it all as I had clear margins, anyway I'm having pain today in my pelvic area, and was just wondering if that's normal after a MRI or maybe something to do with the cone biopsy, but can't help thinking it's something worse.

    Hi tullulah1.

    The MRI will not cause any residual pain at all.  In fact, you shouldn't feel anything during or after the MRI - apart from feeling fed up at being stuck inside this noisy machine! 

    I've no personal experience of a cone biopsy (I was issued with different equipment) so I can't talk from personal experience but I would guess that's probably the reason for your pain.  If OTC painkillers don't address the pain, or if it goes on for more than a few, I suggest you visit your GP.

    Hi! How did the cold knife cone procedure go ?I've been urged to do one for high-grade dysplasia for two years now and I'm so scared -did your pain go away? I was left with a permanent pain in my lower left abdomen area after my last biopsy where she took the sample from
