i found a lump on New Year's Day and have my appointment at the breast clinic on Friday. Such a scary time isn't it.

it is a frightening and worrying time, my sympathies to you.  The good thing is that once you get into the loop for investigations/perhaps tests it tends to go very fast., that has its downside cos if you are like me your capacity to sleep, function at work, eat and attend to normal life goes out of the window,GP who had rewferred me and ask for a fit note to ne off work as I couldnt c oncentratge at all-  but the good thing in all this chaos is that you have nailed the need to take action and get guidance and help.  I wish you well, and hope that you will have good information and kind staff to talk you through whatever happens next. all best wishes. 

Hi I have received my appointment and I have to wait till 25th February.thinking this means that the doctor I saw wasn't concerned about the lump.still would like a sooner appointment to put my mind at ease.going to ring tomorrow for any cancellations.still very much in the unknown and want to put my mind at rest.hope u have had more news.all the best to u x

Well ive had my appointment and had the full tests the doctor said I have an inch sized lump that they are 85% it is cancerous.they said it's treatable and curable and it's in the early stages.still waiting on biosopy results coming this Wed on my 2nd appointment.don't know what to think to be honest.little bit numb that it was this result and not a cyst like I hoped it would be.never been a patient in hospital before it even had an operation.the whole thing is starting to feel very scarery indeed.just want to be normal again and get it out now.

I'm waiting for my breast clinic referral after seeing the doc on Friday for a lump in my armpit. 

Do they tell you much at the clinic appointment? I was going to go on my own & just ask hubby to come to the results appointment but your comment is making me wonder if I need him to come to the clinic appointment.

It is probably best to take someone with u so they can listen as well to any information u are given.I had all the tests done in the same afternoon.I also had to wait 5 weeks for my appointment.if it takes longer than 2 weeks I would ring and tell them u are worried and anxious and would like an earlier appointment.they aim to give u some kind of explanation by the end of your appointment but have to explain to wait for the results of biosopies as they take about a week to come back.if they are sure of what they see they would rather tell u there and then.

Most breast lumps aren't what u think they are but it's best to get checked for any treatment u may need.

I have my appointment for an ultrasound this Wednesday.im so worried. I'm pregnant 36 weeks. And found a lump a week ago. Anyone else been pregnant while finding a lump. Best of luck to the rest of u in the same situation :(

I'm 41.I'm hoping everything will be quite quick and sorted as soon as I get more results and I can be on the road to recovery.it's just such a worry even though they have said it is treatable and curable.I lost my mum 6 months ago to bowel cancer and people close to me have got bad cancer so I feel like I'm getting all the bad luck at the moment.trying to stay postive but it's hard until I get a fuller picture after my appointment in Wed.
