24 breast pain and lump on a 2ww for breast clinic rw

Hi guys.

I'm 24 and a mum to my 6yr old lb.

I went to the doctors yesterday with pain I'm my left boob like bruising. He gave me an examination and said he was referring me to the breast cancer clinic for the 2 week window. He said the left feel fuller than the right and I think I could feel a lump last night too but dont know if I'm just paranoid.

I know it's a case of waiting for appt and taking it as it comes but I'm petrified of the worst case scenario.

Has anyone in a similar position or had anything similar that was a cyst..

I've no other symptoms and well other than pain in my breast...

  • Hi, I have a similar story and I'm waiting for results from my visit to the breast clinic earlier this week. I've heard many things about lumps turning out to be nothing, you really don't know until you go there. I kept calling the booking service to see if I could get an earlier appointment and I managed to get one. I was going out of my mind with worry and obviously still am since they did more tests. People kept trying to tell me it would be nothing because I'm breastfeeding but I have something there and they can't tell if it's benign or malignant yet. They will be able to see what's going on when you go but I know what a long wait that will be for you. Most lumps turn out to be nothing, that's all you can think about for now.

  • I'm on the two week wait too with a lump found.  Had a missed called yesterday with no message from the main hospital number and can't get any replies.

Gp did tell me they are often fatty tissue or cysts , so try not to worry. Apparently I'm in the age bracket for fatty tissue. I'm thinking only just as I'm 39.

I'm considering going private to speed up the process as I dont think I can cope for two weeks!

Keep telling myself to try not to worry as I can't do anything about the outcome!

  • Hi,

i had an ultrasound scan that showed a nodule in my right breast, a biopsy showed it to be "fat necrosis" dead fat, sounds horrible but harmless, so you never know.

My left breast on the other had had a grade two invasive lobular carcinoma, but it's out now and four months down the line life is almost back to normal. The worst case scenario isn't that bad when it's caught early enough, just a nuisance!

The waiting is the worst at the stage you're at, but once you know what's what you will be able to cope better, whatever the results.

This is the place to come for support and advice, or just somewhere you can rant without fear of being judged as we are all in the same boat.

    Good luck

    Christine xx

  • Thankyou everyone for lovely replies.

Really trying to stay positive that I'm otherwise well and it could be a few things. Hopefully I'll be updating on here in a few weeks time to say it was something and nothing. Xxxx
