Possible cancer diagnosis

Hey, not sure what to say really. I have long term disabling conditions and been living with severe pain for last 15 years. I have ME, Fibro Myalgia, AnkylosIng Spondylitis, polyarthritis & several other health issues. A few days ago I had a consultation after a series of scans and it appears that I have abnormal collections of cells on my spine and pelvis. I've bern told it could be nothing serious bout could be cancer of various forms. Waiting for blood test results and bone scan (results of bloods should have been Monday and my scan has been cancelled due to equipment failure). I now live alone after my partner of 35 years left me in October. I'm trying to deal with things but not sure what to do, how I should feel or whatever. So, I just thought I'd check in and see what advice might be available. Sorry to be a pain or downer for anyone. Thanks,  Ray

  • Hello Razora,

Welcome to our forum. This must be an incredibly stressful time for you as you are waiting for your blood test results and your bone scan. It must be all the more frustrating as your blood results were due on Monday. How unfortunate that your scan has been cancelled due to equipment failure! And I am so sorry to hear that your partner of 35 years left you recently. This must be a lot for you to take in at the moment but hopefully you will get a bit more clarity soon. I hope they have rescheduled your scan and that you have another date for it now.

You are definitely not a pain so don't worry about posting here - many on our forum know exactly what you are going through having themselves had to wait for these important test results. The best way to deal with your current situation is to just take a day at a time and try and focus on other things staying busy and distracted if you can. I know it's really hard but try and resist any temptation to look things up online as this will inevitably only make you worry more. There are some useful tips on this page to help you cope while waiting for news.

It won't be long now before you get some concrete answers and we are keeping everything crossed for you that everything turns out to be fine.

    Best wishes,
