Hi all
At 47 I was called for trial early screening so had my 2nd this year as I turned 50. I received a call back as there had been a change and was told I had calcification in right breast following further pictures. Doctor performed an ultrasound which was OK but said she wanted to perform biopsy. During the procedure they went through a vein so had to abort due to blood loss but got small sample. Therefore I wasn't surprised I was called back 2 weeks later. However they could do nothing as I had a haematoma. The doctor told me that small sample had shown nothing. I returned 5 weeks later early December and another biopsy was performed battered and bruised again but they got a good sample. Doctor said not to worry and sure things will be OK and would hear in 2 to 3 weeks due to Xmas. I received letter this morning giving me appointment to see Consultant or one of team in breast surgery. Appointment isn't while 6th January so got over a week of not knowing.. People are telling me not to worry but easier said than done. I thought if it was good result I would get a letter or a phone call knowing how the NHS is stretched.
