My doctor called to tell me I have some microscopic blood in my poo. I've had lots of blood tests which have come back fine but they have found this. I'm panicking so much as I have small children. I can hardly get my breath. Does this mean cancer?

No. It doesn't automatically mean cancer, but it does need to be checked out, probably with a colonoscopy. Since you've got small children I'm assuming that you're in your 20s or 30s. If that's the case, the chance of bowel cancer is very small indeed.
So, please don't panic.
Thank you for your reply. My children are small but I am 46. Hard not to panic but I will try to pull myself together.
Even at 46, the chance of colorectal cancer is still pretty low. Somewhere around 21 per 100,000 of the population.
