7 year old with lymphoma symptoms

Hi, I'm new to this,  not sure what to say but I'm really concerned about my 7 year old daughter.

The doctor isn't taking me seriously about all the symptoms, saying I'm reading off google. Yes I have read symptoms off google which I didnt realise were relevant until I did read about them. Which is why I took my daughter to the doctors. He agrees that her lynphnodes are swollen in the back of her neck

She had swollen glands in the back of her neck..  pea sized lumps for over 4 months. She often has night sweats where her sheets are drenched in the morning, she has severe itching that causes her to cry and frantically itch, she is particularly tired for a child of her age, would happily sit on the sofa snuggling rather than play with a friend and she has always felt cold even in a heatwave she will be having a breakdown about needing a coat on.

In all honesty I have been made to feel like I am worrying over nothing, which I can handle but I am concerned that there is more to this. She is my middle child of 3 and my other 2 are absolutely nothing like this so I just wanted to hear personal experiences of lymphoma and your personal experiences / symptoms.

I'm sorry if I have posted this in the wrong forum. Km going out of my mind with worry

Thank you x

  • Hi. I'm having the exact same problems with my daughter who's 4. I honestly don't know where to turn. She is my youngest of 3 children. Back and forth to the doctors in over 18 months. Last Dec they said asthma but can't diagnose her because of her age. She has lumps in her neck, armpits and groin and last night I found one in her shoulder. She has a persistent cough, bloods showed up slight anemia, she has very bad night sweats, pale with flushed cheeks, tired a lot of the time when having 12-14 hrs sleep a night, she's now struggling to swallow at times and for over a year been waking up saying her throat is hurting. Her tonsils are huge too. The night sweats wake her up and so does the coughing. She also gets belly pains. She is under the hospital so has had bloods done, a chest X-ray and an ultrasound which showed small lymph nodes In her belly. She has also started itching and has a small rash that comes and goes on her face. My gut is honestly aching that something is wrong. I am currently waiting for a call back from the gp as I phoned telling them about the new lump in her shoulder.

much love from one worried mum to another x

  • I could of wrote that' exact same. My daughter is 2 and going through the exact same! Just been refered to a pediatric oncologist. I'm having a breakdown. Have u got any news yet. I pray for u. My heart is breaking and I bet yours is. How do we stay strong :'( xxxxxxxx

  • She has

    severe night sweats

    constantly fatigues and tired

    frequesnt chest throat infections

swollen lymph nodes in her groin - had ultrasound told they were below 1cm so they are not worried she's had them for about 7 months now

went to see an oncologist who said it's unlikely she has lymphoma but he's keeping it open incase I need to come back.

j don't agree I know there's something because my motherly instincts are telling me. How can I argue with a professional :'(

my heart is breaking I'm terified she's my world and it's killing me xx

  • I really hope ur granddaughter is ok. Life is so cruel my heart is breaking I don't know how I can go on

  • Bless ya ... please don't give up .. don't fall through the cracks ... I so wish I could go back in time and pushed for our Jess.... please keep in contact ... ask for the results of her blood count ... platelets and red and white cell count ... l only found out bout them after ...

You keep going coz that's what mum's do ... my amazing daughter in law never gave up .. even when her heart was braking ... if only we'd pushed more ... I'm here if ever you want to rant or get feelings off your chest ... come on keep going .... Chrissie x

  • Yes you can argue ... Jess had acute myeloid leukaemia in the end after her Dr kept saying she just needed iron and was a normal lazy teenager ... she had all that and unexplained bruising...

It's probly gonna be fine but till she's tested it's not knowing and making you ill.... you can do this .. gently firm .... x

  • Thank you so much I'm so sorry :'( I hope ur granddaughter is ok now my heart is breaking for u and ur family. She has had bloods but there saying there not really concerned about them. But there is something going on definately xx

  • Hi, then ask for a copy of her results ... they have to give them to you ... and do some research if they did them tests ... Bless ya it's so hard being fobbed off ... we trusted her G P ....  x
