Hi everyone,
I suffer quite badly with health anxiety and a couple of years ago I became quite obsessed that a particular mole had turned bad. It is what you would describe as atypical but had been that way for I’m almost sure my whole life. I was referred to a dermatologist who agreed it was atypical but did not feel that it was anything sinister to remove as it hadn’t changed.
I still Check it most days to make sure that it isn’t changing and to try and ease my anxiety. The mole itself (ie size and colouring) have not changed but I have noticed some dry skin around the mole. It’s almost like the skin doesn’t want to grow over the mole? I am not sure if anyone else has experienced this and wanted to get some advice on what this may be and If this Is a symptom.
The mole itself is on my foot area so I do have dry skin around but it just seems peculiar that dry skin would formulate around the mole almost asif Skin cannot grow over the mole.
I have shown my partner who thinks I’m being silly but this just doesn’t seem right to me?
I will of course book a doctors appointment but with weeks of worry ahead I would appreciate any advice/ or anyone who has experienced something similar.
Thanks,
Sally Jane
