New to Cancer chat 'scared'

Hello

I am new to this forum. I have been reading the posts and found I feel somehow no longer alone.  I have not been diagnosed with cancer. I will be undergoing tests in due course. In the meantime, I am living in fear and finding the fear debilitating. I hope I can be part of the chat in this context as I don't know where to get further support having been to the GP and tried to explain to some close friends who find it hard to understand the level and all encompassing fear I feel. I am frigthened of any diagnosis and the tests which is compounding my fear,  I hope my first post is okay and in the right place.

Thank you for reading and any support would be gratefully received

  • Aw, Billy, 45 years, wow that is incredible. It says a lot about your character and that of your missus.  Is her name 'Bren' and I take it the dog is Bella (reading Marlyn's post).

Can I say if you hadn't welcomed me as you did (and Marlyn joining in) I am not sure I would be posting. I echo the words of Marlyn, you are a superstar.  I feel as though I am part of a family, a family that understand and don't judge despite me being a grown up wuss!

Billy, I managed to eat something today and I bought some of those milky drinks for when food gets difficult.

    Chat soon

  • Hi

Nice to hear from you. The back and forward (as I did for weeks with my GP) and the waiting for referrals etc is frustrating, I understand where you are coming from. I also had (have) chest pain and I was told there is nothing to worry about. indigestion!!!!  This was some months ago,  and here I am now being told to have the procedure.  I am so glad I found this site and Billy and Marlyn replied, The chat has kept me going. In the small hours of the morning when I am fretting and not sleeping, I think of the 'chat family' (as I call it) and I feel a sense of not being so alone. It helps so much.

    Nice to chat

  • Ah, Marlyn, please gloat all you want. It is nice to hear you had a good nights sleep. I don't have a calm app. Please can you let me know how I get this? I am not good with technology but it sounds helpful. It will also put paid to listening to the TV/ radio.

Just to say, Bette Davies is one of my favourite actresses. I can watch anything with her in it.

I hope I am using this page correctly as I am replying to everyone individually. Is that how you use it?

    Hope you sleep well tonight

  • Evening polly,

i googled " calm app" and it came up, its good because you get the first month free...then you can see if you can get on with it....it even has the shipping forecast....now that really does send me floating off!

You got to love Bette Davis....the killing of sister George is one of my favourites also the film where she is the nanny, with Wendy Craig in it? Can't remember the title...perhaps you know it?

Hope your evening is going to be ok, go and google calm app....let me know how you get on? Xx

  • Hi Marlyn

Thank you for the information. I will follow up on the app tomorrow. I don't know the title of the film but I have seen it. I also like 'Whatever happened to baby Jane'.

feeling scared and weepy at the moment.

    I hope you are relaxing
