Feel like giving up ?

I have had so many tests for lynphoma all of which has come back negative. I had a Needle biopsy, pet scans, ct scans and even blood tests. The ct scan showed raised lynph nodes, that were very large. I then had a needle biopsy which showed reactive features but no lynphoma. I then had a pet scan to look for signs of cancer and the only thing that came up was that the lynph nodes were fdg avid, but they had decreased in size and my spleen was enlarged but that since decreased back to normal size too. my doctor said that given these cirumstances he thinks it is nothing but to double check hes gonna do another ct scan after two months to see if they have continued to decrease in size. It has been two months and they don't feel smaller but is so strange because I have put on nearly a stone in weight. My body is not showing signs of illness but my constant raised glands say otherwise.

  • I think if all your scans and tests have come back negative then it is time to accept what you have been told. Your GP is getting another CT scan organised for you so he/she is being very thorough with you i think. I don't know much about raised lymph glands really but from what have read on here, it could be something as simple as tonsillitis which apparently doesn't always present with pain so please, just go with what your Doctor has said.

It's weird because not every illness shows itself in the way we would imagine. I have lung cancer but really had no symptoms of anything being remotely wrong other than the usual aches and pains that we all get.
