hello,
so my backstory is I am 28 years old (nearly 29) so fairly young and have just had a baby 9 weeks ago. During my pregnancy I was told I was anaemic and put on iron tablets and once she was born I was even more severely anaemic but not had bloods done since. Throughout the later part of my pregnancy I started opening my bowels a lot more frequently (changing from once a day or once every other day to about 2-3 times per day). I put this down to hormones and ignored it. Then a week or so ago I had a few episodes of bright red blood in my stool and the toilet water went bright red also. My partner and friend said it was probably haemorrhoids from the birth so since it only happened a few times I again stupidly ignored it. The past few days I’ve had some right sided abdominal pain. And today when I last opened my bowels there was mucus in it. Every symptom I get seems to line up with bowel cancer. I will of course be seeing my GP now ASAP. But in the meantime I’m seriously terrified. I don’t want to leave my little girl without her mum already (or ever obviously). Please distract me or put my mind at ease or tell me your stories.
Thank you
Alice
