Ultrasound showing benign fibroadenoma - could biopsy be +ve

Hello everyone,

This morning I had an ultrasound done on a lump in my right breast. The consultant believes that it is a benign fibroadenoma but performed a biopsy on the lump to be sure.

Has anyone had an experience where their negative ultrasound result turned out to be positive in the biopsy?

Hi,
yes, that sadly happened to me, all the way along they thought it was a fibroadenoma, then the biopsy results showed cancer. But please don't automatically think this will be the same as you....everything crossed for you Hun, let us know what happens? X

Thank you so much for your response Marlyn! I’m trying to stay positive but want to be prepared for any outcome. I spoke to another friend who said the exact same happened to her. Negative looking ultrasound and positive biopsy.
I hope you’re doing well and are in remission??
