Awaiting Breast Biopsy and Ultrasound

Hi all,

I'm 26 and had a rash around the right nipple since christmas. Thought it was eczema and tried numerous steroid creams to no avail. Went back to the doctors last week and she referred me to the Breast Clinic but said it was chronic eczema skin changes and to expect to be bounced back to either the GP or dermatology. I wasn't overly concerned but i went to my clinic appointment this morning and the consultant is organising an Ultrasound Scan and then a Biopsy for after the scan. Now im concerned that its actually something serious. I was a bit overwhelemd when the consultant was talking about all these tests so my mind went blank and now i have about 50 million questions and stress levels through the roof.

 

If anyone has any experience with this kind of thing any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi, 

    i do know exactly what you mean...it's all pretty quick isn't it? Rest assured they are doing the right thing, it's good being looked after so well, they want to make sure...Also just try and think....it isn't something until it is something...hard I know..but it's true...

    Thanks for your reply!

    I know in reality its pretty quick but the waiting around for the scan appointment then the biopsy appointment then the results appointment is going to drive me around the bend even though i know its going as quick as it can :(.  I am reassured that they are looking into it but its just hard to drag my mind away from the worst case scenario! 

    Things are never simple eh?!
