Worrying mum might be diagnosed with cancer again

my lovely mum has had breast cancerhaving chemo the lump removed, a lymph node clearance under the arm and then radiotherapy. Nearly 2 years has past and I still feel very down and constantly worried about her. Recently she’s had trouble with her bowels,  she has had a change in habit of going to the toilet, she has low iron and on examination with gp he felt something that felt she should be referred and look at .. she has had colonoscopy and biopsy and MRI. We are waiting for the results. I just don’t know how I can be there for her ?. I love her so much she’s not only my mum but best friend too. I can’t help but think the worst!

  • Hi try not to worry it may be something totaly diffrent there are lots of other none serious things than cancer  . Even stress can mess your bowles up if you have been worrying like that best thing is to tell your mum especialy the bit about loving her worry like that can become a phobia you dont say how old you are but you know lots of people have phobias and they can be helped by cbt just a type of talking therapy go have a chat to gp he or she will be able to help that why suffer when you dont  need to eh take care .paul

  • thank you. I guess it’s just the fear of unknown waiting for the results.  I’m trying to be positive about the situation for my mum after all she’s the one going through it.

  • Yes its funny you know we spend so .uch time worrying about things that never happen hope all goes well for you and your mum let us know how things are going if that worryings getting to bad to cope with you can get help .p
