On the 28th May I had an ultrasound scan which showed that I had abnormal uterus on the left and my right ovary had a mass which measured 4.75cm in diameter. I was referred to the gynea team for further tests and an appointments was made for 14th November.
On 29th May I was admitted to hospital as I was bleeding from the bowel and had severe pain in the lower abdomen. I was treated for my colitis flare up as I have ulcerative colitis and painful bladder syndrome. The doctor asked about my periods as they had seen the ultrasound I explained I am having a lot of problems and my symptoms are irregular bleeding, constipation, diarrhoea , water infections, period clotting, severe abdominal pain, extreme fatigue and period lasting much longer than normal. This has been going on for approx 12 months.
My bowel consultant ordered a CT scan which I had on the 7th June. The results showed that the mass had grown a further 2cm diameter and that there was a solid characteristics. He paged the gynea team to come and see me right away to discuss what it meant.
The gynea consultant explained that it had changed from a simple mass to a complex mass and that i am going to need surgery and require a mri scan of my pelvis. I was discharged from hospital and sent home with morphine for the pain and was told that I would be seen within 4 weeks.
Is this normal? I am going out of my mind and I know I shouldn't but can't stop researching .
How was you diagnosed and how quickly was you seen?
