  • Hi Murf,

Got on fine with doc. Referred to hospital. Gynaecology phoned today and have appointment on 26th May. Wish it was sooner. No more bleeding.

    How are you doing?

  • Hi

    sorry for jumping in here.

I am 54 stopped periods 3 years ago. 4 weeks ago had a hysteroscopy done as the lining of my womb was 11 and they found a polyp. They took a biopsy. Today I got a phone call to say I have to go see the Dr tom at the hospital. I am now pretty worried that I am going to be told I have Cancer. Has anyone else been told to go the hospital next day? And what was outcome? Thanks for reading.

  • Hi Flo25,

Great to hear from you.  Glad your bleeding stopped.  Mine too thankfully.  Good you got appointment, it's an axious wait though isn't it.  I've not got a date through yet, but I did get a cancellation for an ultrasound scan today!  The nurse said she could see some fibroids (which I had no idea I had) and that my ovaries looked fine, which is good.  Not sure whether last week's bleeding was the fibroids though?, so still no clearer really.  Odd that fibroids should be causing problems now, as info on internet suggests that they normally shrink during menopause due to lower estrogen levels.  Will have to wait til see the consultant.  Did you have/have you got any other symptoms other than the bleeding?  My abdomen feels odd... not painful, but bloated and uncomfortable, and some lower back ache.
Hope we both get some answers soon.  Take care X

  • Hi Hairdresserstar,

Sorry can't help with your question, but understand your worry due to speed of being asked to go to hospital. I hope it's not to receive the news we all fear, but the positive take is that, if it should be cancer, the sooner it's diagnosed the better the outcome. Have you got someone to go with you for support?  Thinking of you... let us know how you get on. X

  • Hi

  • Hope you get on okay today. Thinking if you x

  • Hi ladies

  • Oh no Hairdresserstar I'm so sorry.  I imagine you are feeling a bit numb, like it's not real.  What are the next steps then?  I'm really hoping you've been diagnosed early and will have a good outcome. Sending lots of love... keep in touch xxx

  • Hi Hairdresserstar

im sorry to hear your diagnosis.

i too got a cancer diagnosis today.I can't stop shaking and fear the worst. From reporting first spotting on 12th April I have been fast tracked and had ultrasound and hysteroscopy within 2 weeks which showed a large polyp and then waited until today for the result.I was phoned from the hospital and have aCT scan booked for Monday and also awaiting an MRI.I'm more worried they think it's really bad because of the speed everything is moving.Trying to stay positive is so hard.

I hope all works out for you.Let me know how you get on with further treatment.
