My wife has the same issue.  For those who don't know, petechiae are dots of blood which appear under the skin; they often appear with purpura, which are larger areas or patches of blood under the skin, rather like a bruise. They appear suddenly, then fade over time. Usually, the dot or patch is well beneath the surface of the skin, but just occasionally it  might bleed. The dots and patches can appear anywhere. 

My wife has had a couple of blood tests but everything seems ok. It just appears to be something that has started as she's got older. It was startling at first, but our GP has reassured us that there's nothing wrong. 

As a general rule, we advise people not to search for their symptoms on Google.  The problem is that if you follow any chain of symptoms far enough, you will always reach cancer or some other dire condition.  

I think since your patches have reappeared you should revisit the doctor, who may want to repeat the blood work. 

Hello it’s been a while. 

The spots have faded away yet some single ones randomly appear and sometimes appear when I itch.

i have been to the doctors my blood is fine.

i have been referred to a dermatologist which I am going to next week.

however can I rule out Leukemia? I am so terrified! I have no other symptoms.

I have this on my inner arms mainly so scared when I google Leukemia comes up x

Hi Bulldog.

DON'T Google your symptoms!  You could Google a head cold and it will tell you you've got cancer!  

If you haven't already seen your GP then you should do so, but remember that there are many causes for petechiae, and cancer isn't the most likely. 

Thanks I've got bloods booked in next week, last year when I had bloods I had low folate deficiency I wondering if I have that again has I'm always tired too.

Had bloods done said my full blood count slightly out of range but no further action? X

[@Bulldog2020]‍ did you get anywhere with this? I also have slightly higher than normal red blood cells and getting like little round splatters of blood spots on my legs. Dr did blood tests and said all though they are out of range mine usually are and they aren't worried but I am freaking out as I keep getting these tiny red blood spots!

i am exactly the same. Very itchy skin, blood spots and brown spots all over my body. Mostly occurs at night. I'm really panicking now. Been going on for about 8myhs.

Last week I noticed a few red small spots on my arms, I went to the doctor and now I'm waiting on the results of the blood test. They are not itchy and there's more of them now. I'm *** it to be honest 

I have these on my arms, noticed last year and thought was sun damage. Now have them on chest and tummy- loads and tiny, dotted at intervals and some clustered. Am 52, and have a lymph node in neck that dr isn't interested in, had a blood test which was ok about 18 months ago. Think will go back, as am worried because they have spread. I feel ok I'm myself- this is the only forum can see about petechae

I'm 34. My blood test are fine and the dermatologist said I'm fine. I should only repeat a cbc if I get certain symptoms. But she isn't worried. Anyway now my arms are covered in these spots even though you can see them only if you look for them. She couldn't give me an answer on why they have suddenly popped up.

I started notice my blood spots on lower legs nearly a year ago for about 5 months, it comes and goes. Not in crazy numbers but certainly concerning without knowing what it is. 
 

I used very small dose hydrochloxy chloroquine for 5 months on a weekly bases for other issues and during these months  the spots were completely gone.

when I stopped the medication the spots started to come back. 
 

did blood test at the beginning when I noticed the spots and the results were all fine. Decided to see a dermatologist specialist next week and do some more tests.

my dr won't refer me back they called it a condition I forgot the name now but basically they said it's caused my a trauma to skin 

mine still here some days show more than others although they've told me it nothing I hate it I'm so self conscious of it
