Testicular cancer? Or an exploded testicle

Hi, I have had an irregular testicle (left) for around 4 years now give or take a year, I’ve recently started looking into what it could be, and sadly testicular cancer symptoms were written everywhere. However, it isn’t a lump, on my testicle, it is more of a network leaving my testicle, along side the testicle being almost 2x the size of my other testicle, I had a feel and it’s like the tubes leading from my balls, on my normal side I can nearly feel the tube leading up to my abdomen, but on the bad side (left) it feels very chunky maybe half a centimetre in diameter is this testicular cancer, or just something else, please get back to me as I am very frightened/paranoid about all this all and want to keep my parents in the dark if I can (I’m 18) as I don’t want them to worry at all

  • Hi Spikeman72.  Welcome to the forum.

I am not a doctor and I have no medical qualifications.

Try to calm yourself. If you've had this issue for 4 years without treatment and you're still alive to tell the tale, then cancer is unlikely. We all know that using Google to check out symptoms is a bad idea since it invariably leads you to think you've got cancer.  That's why we always tell people to resist the temptation to Google your symptoms.

I think that because you're worried, your best option now is to see your GP.  The GP will check out your testicles, and quite possibly will refer you for an ultrasound - if that happens then don't panic; it's just a precaution.

  • Thank you for replying, it has helped me to think that since I am still alive it might not be cancer, however I know it has gotten worse since I first got it, thank you for replying it helps alot

  • Go to your GP and get your mind put at rest.
