Suspected breast cancer

I found a lump in my breast a couple of weeks ago. My GP felt it, noting that I have cysts in my breasts (which I think always have), he was going to refer me to the breast clinic, but not to worry about it  Now I've got a letter through saying 'RAS 2WW Suspected Breast Cancer' and to say I'm freaking out is an understatement. I'm only 34 and I have a 1 year old. Does anyone have any advice please?

  • Hi,

Try not to worry too much right now - I read somewhere that most lumps in breast are benign.  Its a good thing they will investigate further and only through a biopsy can they tell you anything for sure.

I found a lump last month, got a quick referral, scan and biopsy and didn't have to wait too long for results.

Good luck and hope it turns out to be nothing xxx

  • Thank you, that's very reassuring. It's just the words 'suspected breast cancer' that have got me in a bit of a state. I do seem to have always had cysts, so fingers crossed it's just another one.

    Thank you again x
