Breast cancer ???

Hi , sorry in advance this post may be long .                     So around 8 month ago I had a ct scan for something unrelated to my breast but it showed up there was something on my left breast... said possible fibrosistic changes and to go to my go for check and decision on referral to breast clinic . I wasn’t very confident in her check up as she didn’t check up to my collar bone or under my arm . Doc said she thought she might be able to feel something but wasn’t concerned . Told me to keep an eye on it.                                                                      So fast forward to now I feel a lump and have tenderness and swelling under my armpit . Also pain down my side that feels like bruised ribs , not sure if it’s related . I’m 42 and have had the symptoms since jan. I have appointment for go on the 1st April but feel like I will be wasting people’s time if I ask for referral to breast clinic . Help and advice would be great.    Thank you xx

    You may have already attended your GP appointment so this may be a little late- apologies, but we aren't here at the weekend to pick up posts.

    It's good that you have an appointment and hopefully you will be able to discuss your concerns.You certainly wouldn't be wasting anyone's time by having a discussion about a referral for your symptoms.If you feel a breast lump, you should be referred to a breast clinic for further investigation.

    If you feel you haven't got anywhere with the GP you are seeing, you can always make another appointment with a different GP in the practice. The following link to making the best of your appointment with the GP may also be helpful - www.cancerresearchuk.org/.../seeing-your-gp

    Call from breast clinic just now appointment next Wednesday unsure if I should tell my partner as he’s away in two weeks time to the Middle East working for 6 month .

    Hi, glad you have an appointment come through..., the clinic will be a slick affair, telling your boyfriend is a difficult, you don't want him worrying needlessly as hopefully all will be well, but at the same time will he be cross if you kept it from him? 

    Is there anyone else you can take with you? For moral support more than anything....

    Thanks Marlyn for your message so lovely of you taking time out your day to reply. My partner is away just now working . He is home before appointment so I will tell him when he returns .He would want to be there for me . I’m just concerned about the fact he will need to go away before I will have any results back . Guess we will just need to cross that bridge if we get to it . Xxxx
