So this morning i visited my gp for them to check out a lump assuming I'd be told it was nothing. I've been referred to the breast clinic for follow up tests. I'm only 24 and freaking out!!
the breast clinic is a smooth operation, it's the waiting that makes your mind go in overdrive, try your best not to consult dr google......and hold onto the fact that8/9 out of 10 lumps are innocent....
take it a day at a time Hun, do you work? Kids? You need diversion tactics......oh and when you get your appointment try and take someone with you for moral support

I have my breast check on Thursday afternoon. I’m really nervous too and can’t stop thinking the worst or touching the lump/moving it. Probably making it worse.
However, I’ve read that only 1 in 10 referrals turn out to be cancer. Plus 90% are benign. Also I’m 25 and it’s very unusual for women in our age range to be diagnosed with breast cancer. I just keep repeating these statistics in my head.
This waiting is awful isn’t it? I’m prodding and poking my boob as well,almost wishing the lump won’t be there and I’ve imagined it all.
All I can say is that this group is fantastic, I’ve been on here a couple of days and it’s been a god send! There’s so much support on here,it’s very re assuring.
Can any of you give any updates please? I’ve been referred today after finding a lump! I’m so so sick with worry and I don’t know what to do with myself!
all being well you ought to be seen with in that 2 week period, for me it was exactly 2 weeks....the wait is just horrible as in the meantime your imagination will be running riot...it's human nature. Just hold on to the fact that 8/9 out of 10 lumps are benign. Stay off google, he will drive you nuts!
Keep as busy as you can, and try and take someone with you to your appointment for moral support...good luck and let us know what happens? Xx

I hope you’re well. I’m not going to tell you not to worry because you will but what I will say is if you are worried or stressed or need someone to talk to then come to this group,it’s been a godsend for me and everyone is so friendly and supportive.
I was originally diagnosed with a Fibroadenoma but the hospital called yesterday and asked me come back on Friday as my lump is now a suspected fibromatosis. It’s a benign lump but it’s very rare so I’ll need a few more biopsies and possible surgery.
i was seen exactly two weeks to the day I got referred.
What I can advise is try and keep yourself busy. Do you have any hobbies or interests? I even found cleaning the house was a welcome distraction! Also do stay away from google,it’s not a doctor and neither are we and you will make yourself worry even more if you consult google! I speak from experience there!

Hi, definitely ask questions as you go along, I kept asking the mammogram ladies but they were very non commitel......the same with the ultra sound guy, he kept saying....don't worry...we'll know soon enough.....
