I have a lump on my lower jaw. Do I see my doctor or dentist?

scared as I had a malignant melanoma 6 months ago and I have Lynch syndrome so more prone to cancers

    Hi Kag24. Welcome to the forum.

    If it is inside the mouth then I'd try the dentist first. Ask for an urgent appointment and explain the situation to the receptionist.

    If it is outside the mouth then I'd make an appointment with the doctor, again asking for an urgent appointment.

    Hi Kag24,

    Are you still under the consultant for melanoma? If so, I would first ring your SCN (nurse) if you have one. If you weren't allocated a nurse, contact your consultant's secretary. Explain the situation with the nurse or consultant 's secretary and they may arrange an appointment for it to be checked out. If you are no longer under the hospital I would follow telemando's advice.
