Lump and redness of breast

About 4 weeks ago I noticed a red patch on my breast (fairly small and resembles the look of sunburn) now a week ago I also felt a lump under the skin, & the red patch is a bit larger went to my GP and was given a week course of flucloxacillan - this has made no difference and i’m now fearing the worst! I have been referred to a breast clinic but told this will take around 3 weeks! Have major anxiety now i’m struggling to think about going about things normally for the next 3 weeks while full of worry! Anyone any tips on how to stay calm or suffered the same thing?

  • Hi, funnily enough this did happen to me! It was in 2004 , I felt the lump, my doctor did also and referred me, however nothing showed up....they spent ages on the ultra sound too.....they sent me on my way, to be honest I was relieved.....and on subsequent mammograms nothing showed....until of course in 2018 ! But this one is in the other boob...and completely unrelated......still odd though isn't it.....xx

  • It’s strange isn’t it the dr was very thorough with my ultrasound too but nothing.. I do feel relieved too just left with the hmm what is it? I’m sorry to hear you found a more sinister lump in 2018 are you in treatment? I hope you’re doing well xx

  • Just one of those odd things eh?

Im well on the way with my treatment, almost half way through chemo....so far so good....

glad you have a good positive outcome, keep checking those baps Hun xxxx

  • Yep very odd, but very thankful :)

So glad you are getting there with your treatment & beating this! You will come out the other side even stronger than you already are

Thank you so much I was never one for checking before, infact if it wasn’t for the redness I wouldn’t even have felt & known about the lump so it’s given me the kick up the butt to check them

Good luck on the rest of your recovery & thanks again for taking the time to reply to my comment it has made me feel more at ease

    Wishing you all the best

    Hi Natasha,

I am delighted to hear that they found nothing untoward on your ultrasound, but can understand your need to know exactly what it is. I hope that it will resolve for you and, that you will have no need to return for further investigation.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
