what were your symptoms of lymphoma?

Hi I’m not sure I should even be on here but here goes,

I’ve had a swollen neck node since around May last year, I thought nothing of it until a few weeks ago. I started getting extremely tired so much so I’m falling asleep at dining table or having to go to bed for a nap. I like running but have found myself a little breathless and of course no energy to run like I use to. A few week ago I had a week of crazy night sweats which I put down to the menopause and my itchy skin I put down to dry skin. Got blood tests done at GP surgery and they’re all normal range, my gp isn’t concerned bout the swollen node and says tiredness is because I suffer from under active thyroid but I have this feeling something isn’t right with me, so should I push for another appointment with GP or just wait? Also what were your symptoms before diagnosis?

Sorry if I’m not on proper thread

  • Hi scones

thanks for replying. I already had an appointment with ENT as i have suffered from hearing loss on the same side but that has been since before this! I didnt for one minute think i would be referred under suspected cancer. I have been having severe sweats day and night, lost 5kg since last month but god knows how cause i dont stop eating.
My mouth is constantly dry but i had the feeling that there was something there sropping me swallowing. I even got a tiny piece of dried cured bacon stuck, less than 2mm in size!
My doctor said she thought my liver was enlarged and something to do with spleen? I just panicked as appointment was brought forward. I just hope to god he is of on his jollys! My 1st appt was just for his clinic but the new appt was to new referral clinic?
    No biopsy done.
I hope your well in your recovery and thank you so much for taking the time to reply xx

  • That's good you have an ENT appointment, they will prob put a wee camera up your nose to check things out. Mine did it so quickly I didn't even see him doing it or feel it. He said my mouth was very dry, then referred me for an urgent biopsy and ultrasound. I have auto immune problems and honestly thought my symptoms were a flare. I only had night sweats where I woke up and had to change, none during day. I get Salivax pastilles prescribed and they are my saviour when I wake up choking. Strangely enough during my chemo my dry mouth got better. Hope you hear soon, let us know how you get on. Take care xx

  • Will do, fingers crossed for wednesday xx thank you again scones xx

  • Hey thanks for the reply! I've had the first one for at least 6 weeks now, second I didn't know about the dr found that and said it was a swollen node, and I have since now found a third one on my other arm, again nothing from drs and I'm still waiting for my blood test to be done

  • Sorry to jump onto the thread. I wondered if anyone had any advice?

I had Covid 2 weeks ago and also a previous virus right before that.

My neck has been hurting for 2.5 weeks now (like a muscle strain pain I think but has now moved to the back of my head, upper neck area). It hurts to yawn too. When I was feeling my neck I noticed a lump at the lower part of my neck, near my collarbone. It's pea sized, moves and doesn't hurt.

I also, weirdly, have a burning like rash appear on the right hand side of my neck last night. Doctor was stumped and said never seen anything like it. Not sure if this is relevant or not?

Anyhow, went to see GP about lump. They said to leave it for another 3 weeks. I'm going out of my mind with worry as I have two small children and I'm very anxious anyway. Is this the right way to go about things? I only found it because my neck hurt otherwise I'd never have checked so it could have been there ages!
