To be honest I am not sure I have taken it all in yet. Doctor's are concerned about quality of life afterwards, a lot of thinking to be done before I commit to surgery

I can understand the doctor's concerns about quality of life afterwards. Did they think that any treatments might help without surgery?

I am so sorry to read the position you find yourself in faced with this decision to make.

It may help you with a decision if you could speak with a patient advocate. These are patients whom have agreed to help others in the same situation as themselves.

Your doctors secretary or your designated nurse would be best placed to set this up for you, why not give them a call and ask for info.

I only had a partial glossectomy a few weeks ago, but I can relate to how you feel.At one point I was going to refuse treatment.

My husband attended the H&N clinic for 5 yrs and we met people there who had gone through the same as you are facing.

When I was in hospital there were many patients having major head and neck surgery,quite an eye opener just how many there was.

I hope you are taking someone along with you for support. It is so difficult to take it all in so it helps if you have someone to take note of it all to go over later.

I am busy making notes of things to ask at my appt on Friday as I know I will forget so many things.
