Hi. I’m going to sound like a raving hypochondriac, I’m sure. I was hospitalised and on IV antibiotics with a swollen lymph node abscess ( size of a golf ️ ball) just after Christmas for 5 days-I’d had it for three weeks and had taken two weeks of antibiotics. I returned around 9 days later ( and after 9 days more of oral antibiotics) when it started to seep pus but yet again an I and D couldn’t be performed as there was not enough pus. I was given an outpatients appointment for March 24 , 2019. While in hospital, I had blood tests, physical exams, ultrasound and upper body ct scan and they kept saying it was an infection though they couldn’t find the source, neither could I remember anything untoward happening. The time I returned the doctor took a sample of the pus. All the doctors i saw seemed perplexed by it and said that they are not usually as big as mine was. Slowly , the lump reduced but on the very night of the day I went to the GP to discuss another lump on inner thigh on other leg, the lump started to swell again. GP thought new lump was a lipoma but told me to tell consultant next week as it was on lymphatic system and gave me antibiotics for the first lump. They seem to be controlling it but it’s still there and it’s hard and itchy. Why I’m really worried is that three weeks ago I had an outbreak of what I assumed was eczema ( I’ve always had itchy skin). GP said it looked like an allergic reaction and gave me steroid cream. It’s better but I’m still itching and on parts of the body where I don’t normally get rashes. I’ve read about lymphoma and I’m really concerned about the persistence of the lump and the itching. I’ll wait till next week to see the doctor as an outpatient but I’m very worried, as I feel very well otherwise.
