Sorry you find yourself on here. As for coping techniques I struggle to find any.....do you have support at home?

The breast clinic is a swift operation, you will first have a chat with the doctor who will feel the lump and probably mark it up, then it's off for mammogram then possibly ultrasound then possibly biopsy...this is called a triple assessment....then I'm afraid it another wait ( mine was 2 weeks) for results.....

The only good bit of advice I can give is try your hardest to stay off dr google, you will be diagnosing yourself with all sorts! ( wish I could heed my own advice as I have been googling high protein in blood and now think I have something else on top of breast cancer) !!!

Hi dbird, how you doing girlie? Just back from having a heart scan today and gearing up for chemo number 2 next week...xxxx

I will also be having herceptin ( I know...I'm greedy) and that can cause heart damage so need scans every 3 months...

omg!!! Last one next Friday!!! Now that put a big grin on me boat race!! Oh how I dream of my last chemo session....I hope and pray none get delayed, I want to hit each one on time, were any of your delayed? Xx

Snap!! It's pretty scary this finding a lump thing eh?

Its really hard and it feels like a roller-coaster ride. Clinic is pretty full on. I was seen by the specialist and examined then had a mammogram, ultrasound and 3 biopsies that afternoon. I'm half way through my 2 week wait for the results and am also using booze to help me cope. Which isn't great I know. I'm a nurse and so work is hard but also very supportive too. My advice is to try and stay busy, find something everyday that makes you smile and share how your feeling with someone. But listen to your feelings. Don't bottle things up. Have a good cry if you need to.
