I’m just wondering

Hello! So for a couple of weeks now I’ve had a lump in the right side my neck (it’s not sore) and recently I’ve noticed more after appearing in the left side. And just now I’ve notcied one in my pelvic area and lately after I eat a start to feel really nauseous and when I’m sleeping I’d wake up feeling really sick. And some days I would be sooo tired and other days I wouldn’t.

Should I get a check up ??

  • Hi Niamh,

The rule is that all new lumps, or changes in lumps, should be investigated by a GP.  I would certainly stress that you should go see your GP.

This isn't to say that there is anything seriously wrong.  The neck, armpits and groin are the most common places for swollen lymph nodes, and the swellings are most likely a sign that you have some kind of virus or infection and that your immune system is doing its job trying to fight them.  But, you have to err on the side of caution with lumps.

Either way, you have been feeling unwell some days so it is worthwhile getting checked out anyway!

Please go see your GP, but be assured that the vast majority of lumps come back as nothing serious.

Let us know how you get on?
