2 lumps under my armpit scared

Hello everyone ,

I'm new in the forum , one month ago I felt a lump under my right armpit which was not big but now it get bigger and I can feel another one I went to the gp last week she sent me to do a scan at the hospital but no letter received till now I'm so scared and anxious.  I'm breastfeeding also.  did anyone know how long it take to have the appointment ???and any one got the same think please . How can I deal with fear I thinking about the worst I'm 34 years old and my daughters are still young

  • Are the lumps moveable or painful, are you feeling poorly, have you examined your breasts? Could be few things, I shaved my armpits once n had lumps appear.

I'm currently waiting results re kidney and bladder cancer and it's scary. So sorry for us both.

  • Yes the lumps are moveable but getting bigger they are not painful.  I was given antibiotics but lumps didn't go and I have examined my breast couldn't find anything .I don't know I'm really confused but I feel some pain and burning when I give breast to my daughter

I hope that you will hear a good news and we have to be strong

  • Hi Leilasabrina,

Sorry you're going through this worry at what should be such a happy time.  Hopefully it is going to be nothing to worry about, try and take comfort in the fact that your breasts are going through lots of changes again now and that can lead to infections etc.  Even when infections clear up the lymph nodes don't always go back down (I have two in my neck that have been swollen now for decades) and even when they do it can take time.

You've done the right thing seeing your GP and you are now in a process that will get you answers and hopefully put your mind at rest.  I know it's easier said than done but try not to worry until you have to, the vast majority of lumps in our bodies turn out to be nothing serious at all.

Let us know how you get on?

  • Hi! I’m just wondering if you ever got to the bottom of the reason for your swollen lymph’s.

Im currently breast feeding and have a few lymph’s that have been swollen for 6+ weeks and have been referred for a ultrasound, currently waiting for my scan date to come through and in the mean time I’ve been googling which was the wrong thing to do, ahh!

  • Hi

    Did anyone get any results?

I have 2 lumps in my left armpit. I have seen the GP who has examined my breasts and can't see any connection to breast feeding. (I have a 2 week old baby) This is also baby number 4 for me and I've never experienced anything like this before. My GP told me to leave it two weeks then go back.

My lumps are fairly hard but don't hurt. The skin can move over the top of them but the lumps themselves don't really move.

    Thanks

  • Hi

I just wanted to know as you said sometimes after an infection the lymph nodes don't go back to normal but what if they are the size of a large grape.

I had a lymph node in my armpit that was big tender red and the doctors prescribed me antibiotics which helped me to an extent as it helped with the tenderness pain and some swelling was gone but it's still a big grape size and I'm really worried.
