I just wanted to say we are thinking of you as you are waiting for your CA125 and other blood test results. Do you know how long it will take before you get these all important results?

I am so sorry to hear you are feeling awful - fingers crossed they soon get to the bottom of what is causing your symptoms.

I'm sure I don't have to remind you that palpating your abdomen is the least effective way of diagnosing anything, and there are thousands of people every year who misread a doctor's face while doing an examination.  Of course, it's understandable when you're the one on the receiving end of the examination, and you're looking for the tiniest clue, but when you're anxious it's only natural to interpret everything in the light of that anxiety. 

The blood test results should come through in a few days, so I suggest you phone the surgery on Friday to see what they say.  But please remember that even if your results are not normal, that it still doesn't mean you have cancer. 

I had full bloods taken 2 days ago, the surgery called today and explained the doctor wanted to discuss the results with me and arranged an appointment, this is in a weeks time! The doc had already decided to send me for an ultra sound scan when I first presented with symptoms... persistent abdominal bloating, frequently needing to pee, feeling of pressure in my abdomen and some changes to my period... I'm just wondering if anyone else had fast turn around of results then wait to speak to docs?

I haven't had any bloods done but I'm currently awaiting an ultrasound, which I was told could be up to 6 weeks.

I have persistent bloating, always feel the need to pee, feeling full (so not eating much) and abdominal pain. 

Hospital found a 5.5cm cyst during CT scan but I'm still really worried as they have requested for tumor markers.

I hope you get your results back soon.

Thank you for replying. Sorry to hear they've found a cyst. It's just all such a worry. I've had a feeling something wasn't right for a few months and just ignored it. I've also had my smear results back as HPV positive with low grade cells... I'm wondering if it's all connected. 
A week seems a long time to wait for doc to discuss the results but then again she's already referred me for a scan which I'm waiting for so maybe there's not as much as a rush! I don't know what to think!

I had a CT scan 5 years ago as I was having pains and they apparently found the cyst then but did not tell me.

As you can imagine I was wasn't very happy, the doctor's said they don't usually tell women as it's nothing to worry about most the time.

I explained that they should tell women these things because they may pick up on any other signs if it doesn't go.

I'm extremely worried about things and having anxiety doesn't help.

It's so hard when doctor's and hospitals play it so cool and we are just worrying.

I agree, at least then you would be more prepared when developing other symptoms and could look out for them, I'm surprised they didn't tell you! 
 

I know, I just think women should know. This could cause so many completions especially if I wanted to try for a baby.
