How u were told of results if you had cancer/melanoma

Hi all i was just wondering how people were informed they had cancer /melanoma ?

I had biopsy done the day I seen my Dermatologist and appoitment made for 4 weeks later to see him for results.  This will be on Tuesday.

Would I of been called In for a sooner appointment  if biopsy results was cancer/melanoma  or have people experienced a 4 week wait to be told it's cancer at appoitment?

Or just been told good news at 4 week appointment?

Sorry I'm so anxious 

Biopsy was done just before Xmas but from what I read most only take couple of weeks anyway do results would be back

    Hello :)

    I have been told exactly 4 weeks after urgent surgery that this was a cancer- I have been told in an examination room by not at all prepared nurse... this wasn`t a very good experience. I was hoping that waiting long time for all of the results will mean that outcome will be positive. 

    I hope that the fact you are waiting long for your results will mean your outcome will be no cancer!

    Hi there,

    My biopsy was 6th Dec 2018, 2 weeks later I rang asking if the results were back, the Secretary said they were and she's made me an appointment for 21st Jan 2019, I said im not happy with this and wish to speak with a nurse or consultant to discuss my results, I kicked up a fuss as I am so anxious and I knew the results were back, she then said she will change my appointment to the 27th Dec, again, I said I wish to speak to a medical professional first! They invited me in on the 24th Dec due to my anxiety where I was told I have stage 2A minimum MM! 

    I cannot believe they were going to leave it that long, since diagnosis I've had my pre op, counselling, CT scan on the 18th Jan, WLE/SLNB on the 23rd, 2 days after my original appointment.

    Hi there....was pleased to see the note you had left for another, as it answered what I had wanted to know about diagnosis. I've just had nail removal and biopsy, 13th Dec 19. I hope everyone is doing well, and thank you for sharing your answers.
