Must admit, I am struggling mentally today. I have been trying to keep so strong, but my lumps are becoming more painful and I now have a definite lump or swelling in my armpit. Even washing my hair in the shower this morning was uncomfortable when I had to raise my arm. I am hoping the pain or discomfort like this is a good thing, but I am struggling to think of it like that and my little worried brain is in overdrive.

I wish Friday would come sooner. I just need to know what I am dealing with now. :(

So I don't know what is going on. I am now in a lot of pain. What was an ache is now quite painful with a burning sensation but also the feeling of a dead arm, radiating down my left arm to my elbow, all around my shoulder and in to my collarbone. There is swelling in my left armpit and I can no longer wear a normal bra as it's too uncomfortable. 

I'm sweating profusely and last night I was in such distress I ended up phoning 111 and they told me to go to an urgent care department in my local area.

The doctor saw me and could feel the lump in my breast is inflamed. He wasn't sure it was infection but gave me some antibiotics anyway. 

I am just hoping I get some answers tomorrow. It's so distressing and really affecting me, even with my job as I am not able to work as I normally would. 

I am just hoping that pain like this is a good sign and it's more likely something like a cyst rather than cancer. I just don't know. :(

I am so sorry to hear that your pain has increased. I am not a doctor, but I'm hoping that this is an infection and something that the antibiotics will help. You will be glad to get your ultrasound tomorrow and I hope that it goes well.

Hi all,

Just a quick update. Thankfully it is just a small cyst and dense milk tissue which can be very painful with hormone fluctuations. It may have gotten worse over the last day or so as I am due on my period. 

The nurse said she just wanted to leave it alone for now but if it does get bigger then I can go back to have it aspirated. 

She couldn't explain the pains radiating down my arm, so it's a bit frustrating that I will probably have to just deal with the pain for the foreseeable, but I would much rather that than it be anything sinister.

I just wanted to thank you all for your support. It's so greatly appreciated.

Oh this is amazing news am so happy for you it was just a cyst I still have the same issue with my arm too hopefully we will get treated for that soon but what a relief for you that it's just cysts my cysts was quite painful to but now I think it was only painful around my period but your mind can tell you other things in the process off the waiting game I am so happy for you xx

Yeah it is really strange about the arm thing. Will be interesting to see how we both get on. Hopefully that will ease for us both soon too! If you get any further medical advice about it, please may I ask you to let me know as it sounds like we have a very similar thing going on!
